Call for Early Career Researcher (ECR) Editorial Board Members - Join Now!

Dear Esteemed Scholars,

To further advance academic exchange and development in the fields of Orthopaedics, Cell & tissue engineering, Biomaterials science, and Biomedical engineering, European Cells Materials (eCM) is pleased to announce the inaugural global recruitment of Early Career Researcher (ECR) Editorial Board Members.

We warmly invite promising ECRs to join our editorial team in shaping the future of the journal, promoting the dissemination of high-quality research, and contributing to sustainable academic development.

Self-recommendations or recommendations from others are welcome!

Application Requirements:

  • Age ≤45 years (inclusive)
  • A PhD or equivalent degree in Orthopaedics, Cell & tissue engineering, Biomaterials science, Biomedical engineering (or related majors/research fields), obtained within the past 10 years with continuous professional engagement in relevant research. (if interrupted for special reasons, the time limit can be extended).
  • Published at least 3 research papers as first author or corresponding author in relevant fields in the past three years.
  • High academic level, English writing skills, experience in international journal review and other related work are preferred.
  • Demonstrates academic integrity, strong sense of responsibility, enthusiasm for publishing, and willingness to undertake tasks such as manuscript submission, review coordination, and journal promotion.

Official Certification: Receive a certificate of appointment as an ECR Editorial Board member of the eCM.

Publication Discounts: Gets a discount on manuscript submission to the eCM journal.

Annual Recognition: Outstanding Early Career Editorial Board Members will be selected annually and recognized with honorary certificates and academic awards. Outstanding members may have the opportunity to be promoted to full editorial board members based on their contributions.

Academic Networking: Priority access to journal-hosted academic events, in-depth engagement with leading scholars, and expanded international collaboration networks.

Responsibilities of ECR Editorial Board Members:

  • Assist the journal in preliminary manuscript screening and participate in the journal’s peer review process (reviewing at least 6 manuscripts annually).
  • Proactively propose cutting-edge topics, assist the journal in soliciting and organizing submissions.
  • Actively promote the journal at domestic and international academic conferences and related events, and collaborate with the journal’s social media outreach to enhance its academic visibility.
  • Actively participate in meetings of the ECR Editorial Board and relevant academic activities organized or co-organized by the journal.

Terms & Evaluations:

The initial term of the ECR Editorial Board is one year, managed through a dynamic mechanism by the Editorial Board and Editorial Office. Outstanding members may be reappointed and become candidates for the full editorial board.

(1) The editorial office and editorial board members will review the applications for selection.
